When many of our clients first contact us they are unsure of what service they actually
need. Terminology for service and programming varies from one location to
another. To simplify the matter, we will begin to identify some of the common
terms used in the field and guide you to the service that may best fit your requirements.
Refer to any written documents you have received and review for specific
language used. |
These terms are commonly associated with Educational Programming. Most states include a minimum # of hours that must be taken to satisfy their requirements. |
Requirements that contain these words typically refer to Outpatient Counseling, or a higher level of medical treatment. Insurance may pay for treatment services. |
Drug Screening - This is the actual act of submitting
a specimen to evaluate if there are drugs or alcohol in
a person's system. |
Substance Abuse Assessment - This is typically a one-time scheduling with a Certified Addictions Counselor to
ascertain what recommendations are appropriate for your unique situation. If you are in the process of trying to have your driver's
license reinstated, refer to Driver's License Evaluations. |
Driver's License Evaluations - If your driver's license has been suspended or revoked and you are attempting to
have the privledge reinstated, the Michigan Secretary of State/DLAD will require
a specific type of evaluation to be conducted before a hearing is scheduled. Other states may refer to their issuing body as the Dept. of Transportation, etc.
Each state has their own requirements, processes and forms. This process is distinct and unique from a court evaluation. |
